Multi instrumentalist Julie Ann Campbell, otherwise known as LoneLady started recording her own music at home on a four track recorder, before getting attention from the record labels.
Signed to the legendary Warp label she released her critically acclaimed debut album “Nerve up” in 2010. After that she collaborated with with Jah Wobble and Keith Levene and made the album Psychic Life, released by Cherry Red Records.
Her second album “Hinterland”, released this year has more of a pop sensibility, On the record she blends elements from British post punk with influence from funk, industrial and electronic dance music. Playing all the instruments her self, the tracks on Hinterland centers on electronic drum groves with bass cellos and chopped up guitars. Together with the more colorful elements, seeping through her music we also get a feeling of the bleak and decaying landscapes of postindustrial Manchester.
