André Bratten (NO)

2016

André Bratten’s 2013 debut album, Be A Man You Ant on Prins Thomas’ label Full Pupp, signaled a welcomed renewal of the Oslo club music scene, pushing boundaries into uncompromising territories while maintaining the Oslo scene’s melodic flavor. He demonstrated an unmatched ability to send sounds and melodies traveling into unexpected dimensions, transporting listeners far beyond the original tunes.

On his second album, Gode (2015), Bratten took things one step further making a significant breakthrough with his nu-disco influence, presenting work both organic and mystical in conception. With tracks flowing seamlessly, combining striking melodies, sparkling vocal elements, and beat-driven soundscapes, it was no surprise when the album was awarded a “spellemanspris” (the Norwegian Grammy) for best electronica album that year.
