Vsevelod Pudovkin´s The mother

As a unique experiment we are streeaming Pudovkins "The Mother" accompanied by live music from Aggie Petterson, Per Martinsen and Sergei Soukas, to the NOTCH festival in Beijing. The concert will take place late at night in Beijing while we invite Insomnias audience to enjoy the show late afternoon from Aurora Kino in Tromsø where the musicians actually are seated. The movie from 1926 is one of the poetic moments in Soviet Cinema, and a groundbreaking movie in the history of cinematography. Petterson, Martinsen and Soukas have all earlier performed at the Insomnia Festival. This is a collaboration with TIFF, Far North Living Lab and JABfilm aiming to explore new ways of distributing music and film.
