Music Movement New Ideas – Insomnia 2012
For this edition of the festival Insomnia has focused on the Nordic spectre of electronic music, with the high standards of production and understanding towards movement and new ideas to the electronic music scene. We are also collaborating with Europeans Cities of advanced Sound (ECAS) with profiling both MUTEK.Spain and Rokolectiv in Romania.
We start of this year with Sähkö – The Movie with a new movie score that will be played live by Jimi Tenor and Jori Hulkkonen, followed by a mind blowing performance by Next Life at Driv. We also have started a collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy that will be shown both Thursday and Friday.
Friday starts of with the Music Export Norway convention at Tromsø Kunstforening, followed by Design Vs. Music with Tank and two stunning performances by Nikka and Alba G. Corral and Thomas Knak at Verdensteateret Kino. F.AC.E is opening the live program at Haakon Stage, Driv.
Saturday starts of with Steve Blame´s Vaseline show at Tromsø Kunstforening, followed by performances at Driv from 21:00 with performances by Hjernetrim, Hanne Kolstø, Gus Gus, Emika, etc. Röyksopp will end the festival at Driv late Saturday with a Dj – set
There will also be exhibitions at Tromsø Kunstforening and Kurant during the festival. Kurant will give a day to day program and Elin Øyen Vister has a exhibition at Tromsø Kunstforening.
