MØRK – Peak Activity (SENJA)
This is an innovative art/technological experiment where Benjamin Mørk, Kristian Olstad and Erland Dahlen will play together over the internett, but from three different locations in Tromsø.

As a spectator you can choose how you want experience the concert by following one of the three musicians from their physical location, while you at the same time get the sound from the two other ones from online. The three local schedules will have their own sound and atmosphere which will lead to three totally different concert experiences. The concert can also listened to as a whole at our webpage.
About the musicians
Benjamin Mørk, pianist and composer, originally from Senja, but now lives in Tromsø as a full time musician under his moniker MØRK. He also plays the keyboard from time to time for bands such as Pristine and the artist Peter Estdahl. MØRK was founded early in 2012 in Tromsø. In the project minimalistic music is combined with his background in rock. Benjamin also recorded and produced his debut record «Karasho» i 2012. The album got brilliant reviews, and the release concert found place at the old polar vessel «Polstjerna» in Tromsø. To Insomnia MØRK consist of guitarist Kristian Olstad and drummer Erland Dahlen. Olstad comes from Jessheim, but has lived in Tromsø the past years. He has noted himself as guitarist with his distinctive sound, and has played with artists such as Ugress, Pluto and Peter Estdahl. Dahlen is an recognized drummer, originally from Telemark, and has toured around the world with artists such as Nils Petter Molvær, Stian Westerhus and Madrugada.
Where are they playing?
- Benjamin Mørk is playing in Macks old storage room below Storgata. The entrance is by Glasshytta Blåst.
- Kristian is playing at the top floor at Tromsø City Library.
- If the weather is decent, Erland Dahlen will play drums at the roof terrace to IKL University in Breivika. If the weather is bad the concert will be moved to Arna at the university campus.
This is a collaboration project with Norut It to test new solutions for synchronizing data and sound over internet. To send sound and pictures via internet creates in most cases a noticeable delay, but buy time stamping sound we are trying to see if it is possible to work our way around this solution.

Where: Mack quarters, Tromsø Library and University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway ( ARNA, by the administration building).
