From Nordfjordeid in rural Norway comes b0ka, a band who delivers “instant tropicana” and good vibes with their dance-able, live club music. Playing drum machines, synth, vocoder, horns, guitar and vocals, they are constantly mixing up genres, improvising and making a party with their live show – which according to Norwegian music magazine Gaffa; “is really impressing”.
The boys in b0ka have been best friends since kindergarden, making music since secondary school, and played together since high school. Two of them are professional jazz musicians, playing together with bands such as Razika, Mugu Ensemble and Ytre Suløen. The remaining members form a trio of producers with a background as DJs.
In addition to own club concerts around Norway, b0ka have been playing split gigs with Annie, Lemâitre, Proviant Audio, Sandra Kolstad and Ost & Kjex, and warmed up for Mungolian Jet Set and Chad Valley. In 2013, b0ka won the Norwegian songcontest 4Sound Demotape, and have been listed on radio in western Norway.
